In an abandoned warehouse a gangster band is splitting its loot, but they can’t agree on the split! It’s time to let the guns talk and soon everyone is aiming at everyone. The richest surviving gangster wins the game!
Ca$h ‘n Guns helps you relive the best scenes of your favorite gangster movies. The goal is to have more money than anyone else after eight rounds while still being alive.
Each round, one player is the Boss, and he controls the pace of play. First, loot cards are revealed on the table to show what’s up for grabs. Next, players load their guns by secretly selecting either a “Bang!” or a “Click! Click!” card from their hand. The Boss counts to three, and on “Three” each player points his foam gun at someone else; due to his status, the Boss can tell one player who’s pointing a gun at him that he needs to point it in another direction. After a pause to observe threats and measure the seriousness in an opponent’s eyes, the Boss counts to three again and anyone who doesn’t want to risk getting shot can chicken out and remove themselves from the round.
Everyone who’s pointing a gun at someone still in the round now reveals their card, and anyone who’s the target of a “Bang!” takes a wound marker and gets none of the available loot. Starting with the Boss, everyone still in the round takes one loot card at a time from the table — money, diamonds, paintings, the position of Boss, medical care (to remove a wound), or a new bullet (to add a “Bang!” card to your hand) — until everything has been claimed.
After eight rounds, the game ends. Whoever has the most diamonds receives a big bonus, and paintings score based on the number of them that you’ve collected. Whoever has the most valuable stash wins!

It’s time for another Board Game Spotlight here at Zatu Games and today we take a closer look at the award-winning party game Cash ‘N’ Guns!
Cash ‘N’ Guns is a firm favourite of mine – just ask the rest of the Zatu team, they will tell you how much I go on about this game! We played this game at our LAN night this past week and a review is on the way so don’t worry you can read all about the gameplay of Cash ‘N’ Guns!
For now I will share a brief explanation about how you play the game, as well as information about its publishers and designers.
Cash ‘N’ Guns – The Game
Cash ‘N’ Guns is a game designed for parties and family reunions – with up to eight people being able to join in the fun! You will need to be careful who you play with though as some people may take the game quite personal – as the Zatu Games boss warned people before we played.
The scene is set before you all start playing the game! You and your friends turn into criminals who have just pulled off the biggest heist ever – congratulations everybody! Of course, as you are thieves, greed becomes a problem and you just can’t decide on how to split the loot between you! It’s time to play Cash ‘N’ Guns!
The game is split into eight rounds, with the loot laid out in the middle of the table! Each player is given a gun and a cool gangster character to have as their own! Alongside your weapons you also receive bullet cards – either loaded or un-loaded.
The gameplay itself actually requires you to think hard about your next move. You can bluff your way through or go all guns blazing to eliminate your new rivals! In order to get some loot though you are going to have to stay strong – you do have the option to duck but I wouldn’t advise doing this too much!
The winner of the game is the gangster with the most loot – Simple! As it says on the box: Load your Gun, Shoot and Share the loot!
Award Winning Game
Cash ‘N’ Guns has, rightfully so in my opinion, picked up a couple of awards since its initial release in 2014. Honours include the 2014 Golden Geek Best Party Board Game Award and the UK Expo Best Party Game Award in 2015.
The game was also nominated for the 2015 Origins Awards Best Party game and after playing it this past week with other members of the Zatu Games team it’s easy to see why!
The Publisher
Cash ‘N’ Guns is published by Belgian company Repos Production. The company was created by Cedrick Caumont and Thomas Provoost back in 2004. Some of the most popular games on the market today have been created by Repos Production.
Examples include the 7 Wonders series which includes expansion such as 7 Wonders duel, 7 Wonders Babel and 7 Wonders Cities. The original 7 Wonders won the jury prize in 2011, with other top titles in their arsenal also picking up awards.
Party game Time’s Up won the ace Golden Game of the Year award in 2004, with trivia/strategy game Concept picking up the same award in 2014.
Other titles made by Repos Production include City of Horror and Terror in Meeple City.
The Designers
Cash ‘N’ Guns was designed by French games author Ludovic Maublanc. Other board games that he has worked on include Terror In Meeple City, If I was President and Good Question. Maublanc became a full-time games author this year.
