Driven by his obsession of the Alice in Wonderland character, the Mad Hatter, Jervis Tetch has convinced himself that he is the incarnation of the character. Although completely insane, he is a brilliant neuroscientist and uses this to his advantage by mesmerising his enemies with powerful hypnosis, along with mind control chips planted in his vast collection of headwear. He has a passion for hats and headgear, as does the book version of the Mad Hatter, and will stop at nothing to get what he considers the holy grail of headwear, Batman’s distinctive cowl.
