The rocket engine was made in 1829 in Newcastle upon Tyne by Robert Stephenson. It averaged 12 miles an hour with a top speed of 30mph. Stephenson’s Rocket was a technological marvel in its day, bringing together a multi-tube boiler and blast-pipe in one machine.
Magnetic couplings ensure compatibility with all other engines and carriages in the Bigjigs Rail range. Consists of 2 play pieces.
