Originally designed as an escort for larger Star Destroyers, the Gladiator-class- Star Destroyer proved to be most effective as a long range patrol ship. Armed with a brutal amount of turbo lasers, concussion missiles, laser cannons and tie squadrons allowed this star ship was a formidable opponent.
