Tali – Characters (players) are betting on the outcome of the roll of the ‘knucklebones’ in this game of chance to win all of the money on the table. Players first choose a character card with each having a unique, special ability to help them win the game and receive some coins and puts one in the ante. Then taking turns, players put coins in the pot and then roll their knucklebones. Each combination possible has an attributed score with the best scoring roll being the ‘Venus’ and the best score wins the round pot. The winner is the last player remaining with coins.
Tali – dates back to Roman times and knucklebones were an ancestor of dice often being the knuckle bones of sheep (or sometimes goats). The Romans would sometimes mark the knuckle bones with different roman numerals I, III, IV and VI. The history of this game makes it great fun to play and the knucklebones are beautifully made. It is also well worth noting that the push out coins in the game are based on actual roman coins. We also really like the fact that the character cards are based on characters from 1,000 AD so there is an optional, role-playing element to this game as well. This is an enjoyable and quick game to play.
